Decentralized open source physical addresses, 1.2K stars on Github
Xaddress is an algorithm for encoding latitude and longitude within a description that is as close as possible to a physical address.
You can create an address that does not depend on any external source to find out the location, because it is simply your latitude and longitude expressed in another way.
The project was one of the most intellectually rewarding and best received by the community in general, it spent two days frontpage on HackerNews and got 1.2k repository on Github, incredibly much considering that very famous packages have less than that.
I wrote an article explaining in detail how it works, it also has an explanatory video:
Or simply create your own Xaddress or search for one that has been sent to you here:
It is worth mentioning that the project and the algorithm are totally free to use and implement it wherever you want.
